Course Instructor

I bring over 30 years of rich experience from a major metropolitan government law enforcement agency in the San Francisco Bay Area. Throughout my career, I have embraced numerous leadership and supervisory roles. These opportunities have allowed me to hone my leadership skills through both the keen observation of others and my personal experiences, shaping me into the effective leader I am today. My pursuit of a deeper understanding of leadership compelled me to earn a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, specializing in leadership to support organizational change. Additionally, I have enhanced my expertise with a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion executive certificate from Cornell University, affirming my commitment to fostering inclusive environments. Currently, I am a member of the California POST Command College Class 72. Here, I have conducted in-depth research into the repercussions of an economic "doom loop" on public safety funding across California. This work is part of my ongoing Threatcasting Project, a collaboration between California POST and Arizona State University, where we forecast threats to public safety and devise strategic responses to mitigate these risks. Alongside my field and research work, I also share my knowledge and experience as an adjunct professor, leading courses in criminal justice, police leadership, and supervision. This role allows me to shape the next generation of law enforcement leaders, equipping them with the necessary skills to excel in complex and challenging environments.
